Sexuality and Paraplegia

Thousends of people suffer paralyzing injuries in the world each year. About 80 percent of these victims are men. A paralyzing accident always strikes unexpectedly and demands drastic changes in a person's life, in the life of one's family and in one's surroundings.

It may take years for a paraplegic to learn to cope with the new situation. After paraplegics have overcome the grief phase, they're often particularly saddened by their lost or limited sexual functions. All too frequently, the lack of sufficient information causes paraplegics to assume that nothing can be done. Feelings of hopelessness can impose severe psychological burdens on them and their families.

What are the options?
> Can a paraplegic man father children?
> Can a paraplegic woman conceive and give birth?
> Can a paralyzed person be a sexual partner at all?
> What concrete solutions are available to help restore sexual functions?
> This video provides practical answers to all of these questions.

It shows the newest therapies according to the latest medical research. And it gives paralegics and their spouses the chance to speak.
